Blockchain technology has the disruptive potential for\u00a0 libraries to accomplish much more than house electronic\u00a0 credentials. The implementation of blockchain will have a\u00a0 broad impact within the global information profession and\u00a0 for all types of library users. Self-sovereign Identity (SSI)\u00a0 paired with a blockchain protocol for libraries to support\u00a0 digital inclusion and digital literacy, rare book provenance,\u00a0 digital rights, copyright protection, Interlibrary Loan,\u00a0 metadata access, and community-based collections, some of\u00a0 the possible applications being considered by information\u00a0 professionals, will be highlighted in this session.\u00a0\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n
