Oleksii Deikun is an assistant at the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation from English at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, a translator for English and German, and a linguist.
In 2017, Oleksii graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with a master’s degree in translation (“Written Translation in Professional Communication”), with a professional qualification of Junior Researcher, Translator in English and German Languages, Lecturer in Higher Education. During 2017-2021, He worked as a teacher of English language and English cultural studies at educational institutions in Guangzhou, China. Since 2021, He has been pursuing his PhD in Philology at Kyiv National Linguistic University. He is a member of the International Pragmatics Association (IPrA) and the Discourse Research Association of Ireland (DRAOI), and an author of more than 40 publications at national and international conferences.
Research interests: media discourse, translation of media texts, rhetoric, constructive grammar, Ukrainian archetypes.
