Head of the Scientific and Methodical Department, Oles Honchar Regional Universal Scientific Library of Kherson

Tetiana Svatula is a professional librarian. After graduating from the Kherson School of Culture in 1980, she embarked on working for the Kherson Regional Library for Children. She graduated from the Kharkiv Institute of Culture with a degree in children’s literature bibliography.

Since 1983, she has been working for the Kherson Regional Universal Scientific Library, 35 years of which she spent in the scientific and methodological department. In her career, she started as a methodologist and eventually secured a position of the head of the department, becoming a true professional.

As a methodologist, she oversees all the libraries of the region: city, town, rural, as well as school libraries. She advises and assists in organizing a network of public libraries, organizing services for community residents, and providing informational, cultural, and social services in libraries. She organizes and conducts professional development activities for library workers in the region, usually held at the Regional Library Training Center.

She is actively involved in project activities. Besides, she works with grants and their implementation for the regional library, and teaches project activities to library staff in Kherson region. She is also engaged in analytical work, and published papers in the press on the work of libraries in the region. She is an author of the Ukrainian Library Encyclopedia.

Obtained the title “Merited Culture Worker of Ukraine. Member of the Board of the Kherson Regional Library Society”. She constantly improves her professional level, and participates in professional development activities at the national level. She is interested in reforming the libraries in her region, creating a modern model of a public library, and improving the image of libraries and librarians in our communities.
