The village of Maliutianka is located in a picturesque place, which was very much loved and depicted in his 120 paintings by the brilliant Ukrainian artist Mykola Pymonenko. As of 2020, the population was 1789 people. The local library is housed in the museum dedicated to Pymonenko’s works. Visitors to the museum always make it to the library as well. These are foreign visitors, as well as guests from different parts of Ukraine. The locals also frequent the library.

The library’s dream is to have a decent collection on its shelves. Namely, the classics of Ukrainian literature, foreign literature, and works by contemporary Ukrainian authors. There is a great shortage of books that are studied in the school curriculum and are in constant demand. There is a demand for fiction, historical and detective literature. Young readers want to grab some comic books, children’s detective stories, and books in English. As of January 01, 2023, the library’s collection amounted to 7073 copies, including 6231 books. In 2022-2023, 250 books were withdrawn, while only 12 books were added. This is, naturally, not enough, given that the collection contains a lot of outdated and worn-out literature that needs to be written off.
