Technological Advances in the World of Food Allergies

This infographic highlights some of the ways the information community, parents who have children with life threatening food allergies, are able to use technological advances to help them navigate daily life activities and share information.

For a community such as this, having an app that tells you where the nearest Emergency Room is can be very important when trying to plan a vacation or traveling in lesser known areas. Being able to join a community of other parents on Facebook from all over the world to share experiences with are the types of positive things that the internet was intended for. There are a lot of options designed to help parents keep their children safe.

This infographic is very hard to see – the actual size would not let me embed into the post, it said it was too big.  The other way to embed it wasn’t working…I wanted the visual to be in my actual post so here is the infographic. Underneath is a link to see the full size version.

Thanks for the resource rich infographic. There is so much available now for parents with allergic kids. I can’t imagine the terror experienced before these support tools.

I do worry for those who don’t have internet access and must live in a state of greater anxiety.

You are very welcome, it is nice that there are so many options available now.

It is kind of like when you have a baby, and there are so many cool baby gadgets. Then five or ten years later, you are out shopping for a baby shower, and you cannot believe the innovations, and how did you ever survive without this stroller, or swing, or nursing pillow? It didn’t exist yet, so you worked with what you had! Obviously not quite the same, but, it is because there is a need, these things get invented.

I agree, I think having access to the internet can definitely help towards easing anxiety. If not that, then at least a supportive family can help fill that role.
