Canvas or Custom Site

Man' hands on keyboard.

Must I Use Canvas for Presenting my e-Portfolio? Can I Use My Own Website or Blog?

You do not have to use Canvas. Many students develop web sites or blogs or wikis. However you must present  an integrated site -not just a collection of documents.

Also you  must make sure that privacy and confidentiality is respected. You must password non Canvas sites. See: https://ischool.sjsu.edu/info-289-privacy-and-confidentiality

How Do I Use Canvas For My E-Portfolio?

E-Portfolio Advisor Canvas Site

There is no common Canvas  site for all students taking Info 289: e-Portfolio.  Your individual e-Portfolio advisor will have a Canvas site  for all of his or her e-Portfolio advisees. You will be automatically joined.  They will use this site for laying out their expectations.

Use of Canvas for Your E-portfolio

Note  this document that provides all the information needed for step-by-step directions on building the recommended INFO 289 e-Portfolio, including developing your e-Portfolio Presentation, adding evidence, and generating a URL you can email to your e-Portfolio advisor to provide access to your work.

Very important:  Pay particular attention on how to attach evidence to your e-Portfolio.  You must download your assignments first  and then attach the relevant assignments to the relevant e-Portfolio essay. If you do not do this your e-Portfolio advisor will not be able to see your evidence.  This procedure is now required due to increased security controls on Canvas.
